For an overview at a glance, here are all of the symbols which we use to give information about all of our woodburning stoves. These icons are to help you quickly identify the stoves design, origin and much more.
2022 EcoDesign Ready Stove
Ecodesign Ready stoves are designed to reduce PM emissions by burning wood more efficiently and completely. The stoves have been independently tested by an approved test laboratory and met the emissions and minimum efficiency criteria for Ecodesign.
Cast Iron Construction
The stove is constructed with Cast Iron formed in a foundary within Europe, only the best quality cast iron is used to form the stove. Cast Iron stoves are heavier and there have a greater mass. They hold there heat better and are better suited to continuous burning.
Catalyst Model
This stove utilises a catalyser to allow it to burn wood more cleanly and efficiently.
Contemporary Stove
Contemporary design relies on smooth and polished surfaces and clean lines, with ease of use being paramount to complete the stoves simple and uncluttered look. Increasingly popular the contemporary stove comes in many shapes and sizes.
Convection Top Plate Stove
Stove are fitted with a convection top plate to give better heat distribution through a larger surface area.
DuoFlame Multi Flame Colour Technology
Electric stoves with DuoFlame Multi Flame technology feature colour changing flames with 7 different colour settings
Ecodesign Stove

Electric
This stove is equipped with a standard electric plug fitting (240V/10A) making installation simple and hassle free
Freestanding Stove
A freestanding stove is stove designed to stand alone, either in a fire place opening or freestanding in the room.
Full Convection Stove
Stove are fitted with full convection sides and top plate, this give better heat distribution and lower external temperatures and is more suited to installation in timber framed houses
Gas Stove
This stove has been designed and tested to burn Gas. This product is not suitable for burning any other types of fuels.
Inset Stove
Inset stoves, are design to fit flush into a wall or fireplace, They can be space saving and much cleaner than an open fire, but in most cases provide a design statement in a room. Inset stoves are available width from 400mm wide to 1.3m wide.
Low VOC Paint
This stove is coated using an environmentally friendly low VOC paint, this means that the paint emits no smell or fumes when the fire is used for the very first time.
Oil Stove
This stove has been designed and tested to burn Oil. This product is not suitable for burning any other types of fuels.
Painted Finish
This stove has a painted finish; stove paint is very specialist as it is designed to cope with very high temperatures. Do not store a stove in damp conditions prior to the stove paint curing. It can cause corrosion.
Smoke Control Certified
Stoves carrying the tick logo are approved for burning wood in a smoke control area. Special note should be taken to the manufacturer’s instructions on burning the stove in a smoke control area.
Suitable for 12mm Floorplate
This stove is capable of being installed on a 12mm glass floorplate.
Three Flow Air System
The Mendip Stoves range has a 3 flow air system to provide an optimal level of combustion air where it is needed for the combustion process. This results in an especially clean and efficient combustion.
Traditional Style Stove
Traditional stoves are designed to fit into a more classic fireplace enviroment. If the stove is manufactured from cast iron it will have a more detailed casting with motifs . If your require a stove to fit in a more classical enviroment these stoves could fit your design brief.
Vitreous Enamelled Stove
Enamel Stoves are manufacture with glass like finish coating on the outside. Vitreous Enamel coatings are available in many colours and provide a easy to clean durable finish. Enamelling is a difficult process but final looks are fabulous!
Wood Stove
This stove is designed and tested to burn hard wood logs only. Please check load weights and size of logs of individual stoves. Stoves designed to burn wood logs should not burn waste wood such as sawn timbers, chipboard, plywood, pallets or painted wood. Compressed wood should only be burnt if load weights are strictly adhered to. This stove is not suitable for burning smokeless fuel unless another grate or basket is specified by the manufacturer.
