From the standard Ashcott floor standing stove, to the Ashcott Gas and Ashcott Wide, Mendip surely have something for everyone in this collection.
The Ashcott has an innovative magnetic door for easy closing and offers the perfect blend between classic and contemporary styling with its large viewing window, elegant legs and fuss-free finish with stainless steel handle. Providing a 4.7kW heat output, the Ashcott has a direct outside air connector for maximum efficiency.
The stove needs only 150mm to combustibles at the rear of the stove, enabling you to have it installed 150mm away from a timber feature without fear of a fire. This also has the added benefit that all the heat generated moves forward into the room, which is where it’s needed most. The Ashcott comes as either a floor standing version, logstore or pedestal.
Quality is key to the 4.7kW Ashcott Ivory stove design with its sturdy cast iron door and steel body. A large ceramic glass window offers an impressive view of the flickering flames inside while the convection top plate and cast-iron legs enhance the traditional feel. The Ivory version is available as both a floor standing model, and a pedestal stove.
The Ashcott convection gas model is simply styled with a classic look; it comes with a remote control and optional app control, extending the current Mendip range in order to provide the perfect heating source for all homeowners, whichever fuel they prefer and whichever fuel source suits their property.
The remote controlled Ashcott Gas heats a room quickly, cleanly and simply. It comes with dual burners, which emit a heat output of between 1.5kW and 6kW. This means that when using the smaller burner, even on a low 1.5kW setting, you still benefit from the cosy glow of a flickering flame within. With full electronic ignition, it is also available with the option of operating the Ashcott from your smartphone or tablet via the app. So now you can turn your stove on as you travel home from work or after a cold day when the snow starts to fall and return to the cosiest of rooms. It can also be programmed with a timer switch, that regulates the room’s temperature, turning the stove on and off as needed. This version of the Ashcott stove also comes with a log-store, to further enhance the traditional feel.
Finally, for a slightly larger stove, with a more visual impact, but slim-line design, look no further than the Ashcott Wide Catalyst design, which may be wide at 620mm but it is only 260mm deep with a heat output of 5kW, ideal for a statement piece which doesn’t over-shadow the room. It is fitted with an environmentally friendly catalyst to ensure the stove always emits less pollutants into the environment. This is also available as a logstore version.
Ashcott, like all the stoves available from Mendip, is also Ecodesign Ready. Ecodesign is a European-wide programme to lower emissions, which comes into force in the UK in 2022. Setting the standard for environmentally friendly stoves, the scheme is supported by DEFRA and overseen by HETAS, who will independently verify that the stoves pass the required criteria and tests.
This stove is also part of the Woodland Trust offer from Eurostove. For every stove sold, Mendip Stoves will donate £10 to the Woodland Trust, the UK’s leading conservation charity. Chris Baines, Managing Director of Eurostove Ltd, said: “Eurostove and Mendip Stoves are delighted to be working with the Woodland Trust, helping the charity to plant hundreds of trees. We have a huge commitment to being a sustainable business, which includes encouraging our customers to use wood from sustainable sources to power our stoves. We see the Woodland Trust as being the perfect fit and are delighted that our support will see the planting and protection of trees across the UK.”
